Baseball Division Descriptions

Pee-Wee / T-Ball (5 & 6 years old):
Designed to ease beginning players into the game of baseball, boys and girls play together and learn the basic fundamentals of throwing, catching and hitting. Games are an hour long, and every player bats and plays in the field each inning. Players hit a soft, cloth-covered ball (Incrediball) from a hitting tee. Game scores are not recorded.

Bantams / Coach Pitch (7 & 8 years old):
These players are learning the fundamentals of the game. As with the Pee Wee division every player bats each inning. A reduced injury ball (RIF level 5) is used. Coaches pitch to their players and are allowed in the field during the game to assist players in their defensive assignments. Game scores are not recorded.

Minors (9 & 10 years old):
Players in this league should know the fundamentals of the game. Coaches begin assigning player's positions, but each player is given the opportunity to play most defensive positions during league play. Player's pitch to the batters, and stealing and bunting are introduced at this level.

Majors (11 & 12 years old):
As an advanced division to Minors, the participants are playing at a more competitive level. Players who are 9 and 10 years old are eligible to play in this league, but must be selected by a Manager to "play up".

Juniors (13 & 14 years old):
The Juniors league offers an advanced level of baseball. Players are expected to know the basics of the game. The Junior League plays on a regulation-sized field with a 90-foot baseline and a 60-foot, 6-inch pitching mound distance.

Seniors (15 & 16 year old):
The Seniors league offers an advanced level of baseball for high school students aged 15-16 years old. The season will start after the high school baseball season and will consist of a ~10 game schedule. This league plays a competitive game of baseball and players are expected to know the basics of the game. Senior league games will play on a regulation-sized field with 90-foot baselines and a 60 foot 6-inch pitching distance.

An All-Star Tournament team will be selected for this league to participate as the Host Team in the 2010 Senior Central Regional Tournament sponsored by DBLL and played in Columbia, MO. The players and coaches will select the All-Star team. Player vote determines the first 6 players and the All-Star manager along with help from league coaches will make the remaining selections. The All-Star team will have the opportunity to advance to the World Series tournament. Age and residential boundaries are strictly enforced.
